

Kittredge is a beautiful red-haired woman who used to be an actress on the stage. He doesn’t return to Raven Hall alone, however. Major Kittredge has recently returned from South Africa where he lost an eye and an arm in the war.


The Thextons are not the only newcomers to the village, however. The local vicar has similar problems to Miss Potter, but his uninvited guests are distant relations who don’t seem inclined to leave. Ridley wanted to get of the rough rats who moved into the attic, but he doesn’t want to die himself! But how can a mild-mannered, plump rat get rid of a vicious monster with shiny teeth and sharp claws? But Miss Potter’s attic has been overrun by rats! To get rid of them, Miss Potter finds several excellent cats, sending Ridley Rattail into a panic. It is spring in 1907 and Beatrix Potter is thrilled to return to her cozy home at Hill Top Farm in Near Sawrey, Lake District, England after an exhausting time managing her parents’ home in London.
